The CentexHumane Society's 2nd Chance animal shelter in Killeen, TX is the only no-kill animal shelter in the Central Texas area. We take in dogs and cats, give them medical treatment and spay and neuter them if needed, administer shots, and find them homes via the local news and Petfinder.

On November 1, 2009, at 1:30 a.m., a fire burned down the front part of the main building, where we kept our small animals. The cat room was right behind the source of the fire and 99 cats and 15 dogs perished from smoke inhalation and fire. Smoke spread through the entire building via the air vents and crawl space under the roof, covering the walls with black soot.

Volunteer efforts have been made to clean any equipment that is recoverable, but the kitchen, office and meeting areas are a total loss and beyond recovery. Local volunteers have been amazing, donating their time to help with the cleanup, but we are a far cry from being functional.

Cats Exclusive, a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, is dedicated to helping our community - both people and felines alike. Over the past decade, our no-kill adoption center has helped find loving homes for more than 5,000 cats and kittens in our community. In September of 2007, we decided we wanted to start doing more for our community and launched our low-cost clinic. We now offer many basic services that you'd find at your local vet's office, including spaying/neutering, vaccines, and microchipping. And by utilizing our clinic, you're helping to support our cause.

The Animal Welfare League of Qld takes care of approximately 12,000 strayed and abandoned animals annually from the Gold Coast and surrounding areas. The AWL receives no Federal or State Government funding for welfare work, relying predominantly on the community for financial support.

The AWL specialises in the care, shelter, and rehoming of dogs and cats. Since 1959, the AWL has opened its doors and hearts to all companion animals in need. As well as providing on-site care at its’ two Rehoming Centre’s, the AWL has a fostering and rehabilitation program that is second to none. AWL also works closely with the Gold Coast City Council in providing the best of care for stray animals during their impound period, with all unclaimed animals then transferring to the AWL for rehoming.

AWL are proud of their Golden Oldies program, offering specialized care and rehoming of all Golden Oldies.

Eleven Eleven Animal Rescue is a Montreal based non-profit organization. This rescue specializes in finding homes for animals who would have otherwise been killed. Many of our animals were  literally minutes from being euthanized. We treat, re-habilitate and re-home a wide variety of animals (Dogs, Cats, Exotics Animals, Reptiles and Amphibians), within the ability of our resources and funds at the time.

Our network of Guardian Angels:

Take on, treat and re-home animals with medical conditions.

I was inspired to start this rescue so I could continue to aid and protect animals as I have tried to do my entire life. Hopefully with the help and contributions from animal lovers like yourselves and your friends I hope to foster more animals, facilitate and organize better ways to support the animals in this community. Which is why I am expanding my efforts, in hopes of being able to reach out and help more. Peaches, a very special little kitten inspired me to take my rescuing seriously, and never give up on any animal and thus is the mascot of our rescue.

The DIANA BRIMBLECOMBE ANIMAL RESCUE CENTRE formerly the Animal Rescue Group, Wokingham, was founded over 40 years ago. For a large part of that time animals rescued by the Charity were kept at the home of Mrs Brimblecombe, who was awarded the MBE in 2001 for services to Animal Rescue.

Whilst the staff and supporters of the Charity have done a magnificent job over the years, helping thousands of unwanted, stray and neglected animals, the operational aspect of the rescue has been continually expanding throughout this time, and it became clear that it could no longer function in the cramped and difficult conditions of Mrs. Brimblecombe's back garden!

It is almost impossible to raise the funds necessary to keep the Rescue even ticking over, but some incredibly generous legacies enabled the charity to seek a permanent, independent site for a properly equipped Rescue Centre where our animals could receive the best of care, and at last in May 2003 we relocated to Hurst, where our animals are accommodated in specially adapted and purpose-built accommodation on a 14 acre site.

Cats in Need is a certified 501c(3) non-profit/no-kill animal/all volunteers rescue group with chapters located in Southern California. They hold adoption shows every weekend at area PetSmart and Petco stores plus other locations. Low cost spay/neuter referrals to local vets and other animal care information are available on this site.

Cats in Need has no government funding and runs strictly on volunteers, fosters, and monetary donations. All donations and volunteer work goes to taking care of the animals they take in.
