HOW DID YOU PICK THE SHELTERS?
Now in our third year, we decided we wanted to help charities around the world who do a little extra to help special needs and less-adoptable pets this year. Nominations were open three weeks before Santa Paws Drive officially launched and we received so many worthy shelter suggestions. The elves carefully read through each one and chose six based on location (we wanted to help worldwide), need and the nomination note sent in. It was an extremely tough choice, as there were so many incredible places brought to our attention, and we wish we could help them all. We hope you'll join us in supporting the animals at ones we've chosen.
WHICH COUNTRIES WILL YOU BE SUPPORTING?
Santa Paws Drive 2011 is proud to be supporting 4 organizations in the United States, 1 in Canada and 1 in the UK.
HOW WILL I KNOW HOW MUCH HAS BEEN RAISED SO FAR?
We have a widget on the Santa Paws Drive homepage that will keep a running total of all the cash donations, individual toys, individual treats and bundle packs of toys and treats as they come in. The widget will be updated at least twice daily. You can grab the Santa Paws Drive widget for your blog (and please do!) by copying the code underneath it and pasting it into your template.
WHEN IS THE LAST DAY TO DONATE?
The last day for cash donations is December 20, 2011. The last day for toy and treat donations is December 14, so that the elves can have time to sort all the items, pack them up and ship them off in time for Christmas delivery!
CAN I SEND DONATIONS DIRECTLY TO THE SHELTERS?
Of course you can if you'd like! We'll never say no to that. But if you'd like to show your support for the Santa Paws Drive program, please make sure you make your donation through the links we have on our site and blogs.
CAN I SEND OTHER ITEMS TO YOU FOR DONATIONS?
Unfortunately we are not able to collect, receive and ship out other items due to the shipping charges. We encourage you to contact our selected shelters to inquire about sending other items directly to them.
HOW WILL YOU DIVIDE UP THE DONATIONS?
At the end of Santa Paws Drive on December 20, we will total all the cash received and divide it equally among the six shelters. We will do the same for toys and treats and arrange for them to be sent to the shelters directly.
WHO WILL PAY THE SHIPPING COST ON THE GIFTS?
The Santa Paws Drive elves will make sure they pick the lowest price shipping option. The money to ship will come out of the cash donations. Every penny donated goes directly to the shelters or to help get the toys and treats to them.
HOW WILL YOU DEAL WITH DIFFERENT CURRENCIES INVOLVED?
As all donations will be received in U.S. dollars, we will convert the dollar amount into the local currency and will arrange for the funds to be transferred in that way to each shelter in other countries.
